Description
Storage baskets are the ideal way to keep drawers and shelves not only tidy but also visually appealing. This project is quick to sew, fun, and durable—making it perfect for sewing beginners. I find these baskets especially useful on the changing table to keep diapers and wipes within easy reach. They’re also a great solution for other purposes: sturdy, versatile, and customizable.
The design is two-toned, with the lining visible through the folded edge. This allows you to play with colors and patterns to personalize the baskets to your taste. The smallest size is perfect for Tonies, while the larger versions can organize craft supplies or even serve as bread baskets on Sunday mornings.
For those who love personalization, the folded edge can be embroidered with labels, or the sides can be decorated with appliqués. Depending on your fabric choice, a suitable interfacing or batting provides the necessary stability. The folded edge itself already gives the basket a good base structure.
- Versatile and practical: Perfect for changing tables, craft supplies, bread, or small toys.
- Beginner-friendly: Simple to sew and quick to complete.
- Customizable: Fabric choices, embroidery, or appliqués make each basket unique.
- Sturdy and stable: The folded edge and interfacing ensure a great shape.
Sizes:
- Small: 12 x 12 x 12 cm
- Medium: 15 x 15 x 16 cm
- Large: 15 x 20 x 16 cm
