Description
Children need comfortable clothes – for running, climbing, playing, or simply feeling good. These leggings can handle it all. The foldover waistband is simply folded down and sits especially comfortably without digging in. Nothing pinches, nothing slips – just right for everyday wear.
The mid-rise leggings with a slightly flared leg have a modern yet child-friendly shape: comfortable and snug at the top, gently flared from the knee down. They drape nicely and feel just as good during playtime as they do when relaxing on the couch.
The pattern is easy to sew and perfect if you want to gain your first experience sewing jersey. Depending on the fabric, the leggings can look sporty, playful, or even quite chic. They’re especially cute if you sew the waistband in a contrasting color or combine small fabric leftovers.
Recommended Fabrics:
Stretchy jersey with at least 20% crosswise stretch. Make sure the fabric is soft, stretchy, and shape-retaining – that way the leggings will stay in shape even after many adventures.
In short:
- Comfortable foldover waistband – no pinching, no pressure
- Softly draping flared leg – comfortable and movement-friendly
- Ideal for beginners sewing with jersey
- Optional: waistband in a contrasting color or with small fabric accents
- Fabric recommendation: soft jersey with at least 20% stretch
