Description
A long-sleeve shirt belongs in every wardrobe. Basics like this are perfect for sewing yourself – they fit well, last long, and can be combined endlessly. I love sewing my shirts in the exact colors that match my wardrobe. That way, I don’t have to spend ages searching for the perfect fit – I just know it works.
The Longsleeve is simple, timeless, and comfortable to wear. The cut is relaxed but not too loose – ideal for everyday use. All seams can be sewn entirely with the overlock, and the flatlock seams at the hems provide extra stretch and a clean, sporty look.
The round neckline requires a bit of precision, as every stitch is visible – perfect if you want to challenge your accuracy a little. The rest is straightforward: an ideal project for advanced beginners who want to gain more experience sewing jersey.
What I especially love is that you can get creative before assembling the shirt: print, embroider, or add small design details – you’ll never get that kind of access on a store-bought shirt again.
Recommended Fabrics:
Soft, stretchy jersey. Since the cut is relaxed, almost any light to medium-weight jersey works well, even without a high elastane content. Just keep the neckline in mind — make sure your head still fits through 😉
In short:
- Timeless basic pattern with round neckline
- Relaxed fit for a comfortable shape
- Flatlock seams for flat, stretchy hems
- Ideal for advanced beginners
- Optional: decorate or embroider before sewing
- Fabric recommendation: light to medium-weight jersey
